it’s quite apparent outside, that fall is here. the temperature is dropping, the days are growing shorter, and the leaves are turning their vibrant colors. i really enjoy fall, i love the chilly air, the smells, the leaves. don’t quite care for the shorter days, but it does come with the territory, doesn’t it.
well, i was inspired by the leaves today to create a card. unfortunately the idea popped into my head quite randomly and i didn’t think it was going to be worth recording, so i don’t have a video for this project. however, the card came out very cute, so i thought i would post it anyways.
supplies i used for this project include:
• kraft card stock for the base
• fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch
• white card stock
• leaf stamps
• tree stamp (american crafts Glee stamp set)
• mandarin orange and red chrysanthemum ink from martha stewart
• walnut stain distress ink
• martha stewart 3 butterflies punch
i was playing around with a stamping technique when i imagined this card. i definitely don’t have any fall colored inks, and wanted to see if i could make some. so i used a red and orange ink, and stamped some onto my craft sheet along with some walnut stain distress ink. i then used the leaf stamps to blend these inks together to make some colors that were more appropriate for fall leaves. i did the same for the tree, keeping the tree trunk more on the brown side. i then layered the papers, stamped the sentiment, and adhered the butterflies with rolled up mini glue dots! super simple, yet adorable!
